After tears and exhaustion trying to handle the problem myself, I found your website and, possibly, my sanity!  Your calm, mom-to-mom discussion with me really assured me that help was on the way.  The moment Lice Brigade arrived at our house was the first moment in days that I felt confident we could tackle this problem.

The Lice Brigade offers an adjunct to traditional pediculicides with our thorough, in-home removal of nits.  Additionally, if you have students/patients who prefer not to use pesticides on their children, we offer instructions in the use of olive oil treatment.  This suffocant method has not been shown to be 100% effective in killing all lice but, when done correctly, it is quite effective in killing the vast majority.
When this method is used in combination with thorough nit removal, the success rate increases dramatically.  Plus, unlike pediculicides, olive oil is inherently non toxic.
Although the current over-the-counter pediculicides have a low mammalian toxicity, there is compelling evidence that head lice are building up a resistance to them.  Beyond that, I have observed first hand that these products irritate the skin.  Also, I am shocked at how many people are using them improperly.  One mother said she used RID every night for a week.  Another mother said she uses dog shampoo!
Further, even when using a pediculicide, parents must still manually remove the nits.  Sounds easy enough, but I recently visited a woman's house who had treated her children and herself twice with pediculicides and thought she got all the nits.  Upon our thorough, experienced inspection we found that not only had this mother burned her own scalp by leaving the pediculicide on too long, but we found dozens of nits in all of their hair as well as a few dead lice.  And this mother is a registered nurse!  If she is missing nits and misusing pediculicide, so too are many other parents.
The Lice Brigade's nit pickers come from different backgrounds; some are cosmetologists while others are from the medical field.  But the one constant is that each came to me with extensive previous lice experience.  We then trained them in our systematic removal process.
And all nit pickers must undergo a criminal back ground check.  You can feel confident referring your patients or students to The Lice Brigade.
The Lice Brigade charges $75 per hour for our in-home treatment.  An average treatment is two hours long.  For our 100% guarantee we require three treatments spaced four days apart.  However, if the family cannot afford additional treatments we will do our best to instruct them in the art of nit removal as well as how to help prevent future outbreaks.
